HDI Brings Will Kennedy, the Senior Program Officer of the UNOP to Muhlenberg College (Virtually) -The Fourth of HDI’s Higher Education Alliance 2021 Series

Mr. Will Kennedy, the Senior Program Officer of the United Nations Office for Partnerships
The Higher Education Alliance (HEA) of the Humpty Dumpty Institute and the Global Partnerships Forum collaborated with Muhlenberg College in organizing a virtual presentation by Mr. Will Kennedy, the Senior Program Officer of the United Nations Office for Partnerships, on Thursday, April 22, 2021.
Mr. Kennedy’s presentation focused on the role of U.N. Partnerships in coordinating private sector, foundations, and other non-state sectors with the United Nations system in furtherance of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. He discussed with the participating students the power of partnerships and how they can be employed to address humanity’s biggest challenges. These challenges include climate change, hunger, poverty, and maintaining seawater for use by all humankind. Mr. Kennedy further explained how the United Nations works closely with the world’s major philanthropic organizations, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the United Nations Foundation. He added, however, that the United Nations also partners with small local organizations and enterprises to promote health and wellbeing, eliminate gender-based violence, and promote universal vaccinations.
The Higher Education Alliance is a program jointly operated by the Humpty Dumpty Institute and the Global Partnerships Forum. Its mission is to bring U.N. and international-focused programs to campuses around the United States.
