HDI Cultural Diplomacy Program for Jordanian Documentarians

The Humpty Dumpty Institute (HDI) works around the world to inform and foster dialogue amongst critical stakeholders on key global issues. We do this through our programs with the U.S. Congress and the United Nations, engaging young people, supporting cultural diplomacy, and working on humanitarian programs.

One of HDI’s signature programs is working with international filmmakers.  Our programs are designed to give these filmmakers the tools needed to advance their careers and expose them to the culture and values of America. (maybe something about furthering the digital storytelling capacity in their own country)

Since March 2024, working with U.S. Embassy Amman, UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television and The Royal Film Commission – Jordan. HDI has been working to train 12 Jordanian filmmakers.  Our award-winning film consultant, Bill Megalos, coordinated a program in Los Angeles for the Jordanians in which they increased their technical knowledge and gained insight into American filmmaking trends, practices and conventions.  The group then returned to Jordan where, working in teams, they made six films, three focused on climate change and three on disability inclusion.  Bill Megalos then traveled to Jordan in August 2024 to help the filmmakers edit and complete their films.

We invite you to learn more about the program and view trailers of the films here.
