HDI’s Culinary Envoy Adrian Miller will be featured on the new Netflix Limited Series High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America which starts streaming on Wednesday, May 26. This series will introduce viewers to the incredible contribution made by African Americans to American cuisine. Award-winning author Adrian Miller will give viewers informative and entertaining presentations on the history of African American cuisine. Mr. Miller provides much-needed context by showing how race relations in the United States shaped African Americans’ foods. Mr. Miller’s presentation is based on his 2013 book, Soul Food: The Surprising Story of an American Cuisine, One Plate at a Time. Soul Food won the 2014 James Beard Foundation Book Award for Outstanding Reference and Scholarship. Adrian Miller is one of HDI’s most sought-after cultural envoys having done programs for U.S. Embassies in Oslo, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the U.S. Mission to the United Nations.
