Mushrooms with a Mission (MwM)

Beneficiaries

These photos, taken in the spring of 2011, depict the men, women and families who are part of our Grassroots Human Security and Livelihood Creation Program called “Mushrooms with a Mission”. This program has been established in Quang Tri, the poorest province in Vietnam and provides disabled UXO survivors and their families with the tools and knowledge to grow and sell mushrooms as a way to supplement their monthly income. Vietnam has one of the highest amputee populations in the world. Today, there are still 500,000 tons of unexploded bombs scattered throughout Quang Tri Province.
