U.N. to D.C.
Furthering our mission to increase dialogue between the United States Congress and the United Nations, HDI arranges for officials from the U.N. Secretariat and Special Agencies to meet in-person with congressional staff members. The program provides a forum for congressional staffers to ask direct questions and to network with senior U.N. representatives such as Robert Orr, Assistant Secretary-General for Policy Coordination and Strategic Planning, and Deborah Saidy, Director of the World Food Program. Briefings are typically conducted in a format that includes a presentation on current activities of the U.N. followed by an open discussion.
