On December 18, 2007 HDI Executive Director Joseph Merante gave a presentation to 30 students from the School of Diplomacy in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The presentation was arranged by full name Ambassador Myrtho Bonhomme, Dean of the School of Diplomacy and took place at the Consulate General of Haiti in New York City.

The delegation is in New York City to learn more about the work of the United Nations and multilateral diplomacy. The students were pleased to learn about the mission and strategies of the Humpty Dumpty Institute. They were intrigued by the role that nonprofit organizations can play in international diplomacy and asked a series of questions concerning the difficulties of improving U.S.-U.N. relations.

The program builds upon HDI's nationwide engagement of universities and students. On HDI's U.N. Across America Programs we regularly place United Nations diplomats in rooms with American students and professors. HDI has also pioneered a program with Florida International University to receive United Nations officials as visiting professors.
