The Humpty Dumpty Institute Mourns the Death of Congressman Eni F. H. Faleomavaega |

Representative Faleomavaega was the longest serving representative of American Samoa in the U.S Congress where he served from 1989 to 2014. He was a valued leader of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and served as Chair of the Asia-Pacific Subcommittee. Congressman Faleomavaega was also one of the longest serving members of HDI's Congressional Advisory Board. The congressman was extremely active in guiding and formulating HDI programs in Central Asia. He led HDI organized Congressional delegations to Bahrain, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. He was always warmly received by the leaders of these countries and was instrumental to creating conditions for increased bilateral relations between the United States and countries in the Middle East and Central Asia.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Humpty Dumpty Institute, Dr. Al Khalafalla said, "Congressman Faleomavaega was a dear friend my mine. He worked tirelessly for the people of American Samoa and for policies which benefited all Americans. Eni Falmavaega was a truly decent man who I will miss terribly. I send my deepest condolences on my own behalf, that of my wife, and the entire Humpty Dumpty Institute to his wife, Hinanui Hunkin, his children, grandchildren, and the people of American Samoa." |
